Book Launch

I am pleased to invite you to the launch of my book entitled Rebel Priest in Time of Tyrants Mission to Haiti, Ecuador and Chile, with a Foreword by Miguel d'Escoto, M.M. As a missionary, I witnessed close up the oppression and poverty in Haiti, Ecuador, and Chile where dictators and predatory imperialists ruled and I participated actively in the birth of a Church of the poor.

The launch will take place on Wednesday, June 10, at 5:30 pm at the Congrégation Notre-Dame, 2300, rue Sherbrooke Ouest (corner of Atwater). Welcome to all.

Warmest regards,

Claude Lacaille, p.m.é.

OK Clean Water Celebrates Another Successful Year with Ottawa Catholic Schools!

The OK Clean Water Project is most grateful to the Ottawa Catholic Schools who have supported our water project in Kumbo, Cameroon again in the school year 2014-2015. This year, twenty-five schools brought in an amazing $31,264.50! The schools were given a power point presentation including photos, commentary and statistics on the number of villages, pipes, storage tanks, schools and health clinics served by the project. The students and teachers were most creative in their fundraising engaging in such activities as walk-a-thons, read-a-thons, spirit days, coin lines, bake sales, chores at home and other interesting activities to raise money for OK Clean Water Project.

Preparation for Assembly: Suggestions from JPIC

As we prepare for the Province Assembly, we are also journeying with the Corporate Stance and anticipating a significant year around Climate Action.   We are expecting an Encyclical from Pope Francis in early July and organizing for advocacy around the U.N. Climate Conference in Paris in December. For those wishing to include the substantive momentum of Climate Action as part of their preparation for Assembly, the JPIC Core Committee has prepared some papers as a guide and resource.  They have been posted on the First Class JPIC icon. They include an overview of where we are and where we are headed in relation to Climate Action with some interesting exercises and questions for reflection.
