Reflexion for Christmas Day

Christmas Day

Greetings fellow travelers!  Our Advent journey ends today.  I am Winnie Odo, from the East (not the Orient) from Visitation East of Visitation Province which takes in New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia.  Together with my husband Gerald we live in a tiny fishing community in Lingan, Cape Breton much like the landscape and seashore that surrounded Jesus as he grew up.  Like Kathy Chadwick who began our journey on November 29th, I have been blessed by the CND Community and Associate Relationship for the past 17 years.

From the Gospel of John 1:1-18, the Mass during the day, these words “the true light, which enlightens everyone, was coming into the world” resonate with me.  The story of the Nativity always reminds me of the light that guided the Magi to the place of our salvation.  John helps me see the inclusivity of Jesus who enlightens ‘everyone’.
