I am writing to you today with my heart filled with gratitude and deep love for our God and our dear mother, Marguerite. It is in following her journeying steps that I am in Kumbo, Cameroon for my second apostolic mission experience. I have had the honor to watch and learn from three of our beautiful sisters Catherine, Cécile and Noreen. Each has a deep love for Jesus Christ which is made apparent in their dealings with so many people who knock on our door begging for help. They are what Marguerite asked of them, to be present and real. To be social workers, teachers, nurses, guidance councillors, mothers and friend, just to name a few.
March 8, 2011: International Women’s Day While we have seen a significant change of attitude in society about women's equality and emancipation, patriarchy is still strong. Women are more visible in professional life but women are still not paid equally with their male counterparts. The violence against women persists.
Many Sisters have been asking me about Janet. She is well and happy.Janet has enjoyed her experience in Kumbo. She helped at the school three days a week, and has helped at Cathy's library. She sounds very excited when she talks about bringing communion to some mothers and visiting with them.
