The Pack-a-Backpack Program

On August 27, parishioners of the Church of St. Mary on Broadway in Providence and other volunteers, including Congregation of Notre Dame associate candidate, Judy Laffey, and Congregation of Notre Dame associates Bonnie Cotter and Susan Connery filled backpacks to be delivered to two hundred students in three local public schools and for parish youth in need. Funding was provided by the Blessed Sacrament Province Congregation of Notre Dame Donations Committee for the Pack-a-Backpack Program. The CND associates supplemented the funding by donating school supplies and money to purchase supplies.

In the experience and conversation with Ann, we encountered the strength, passion and compassion of the contemplative heart of Marguerite.
