A Church Seeking Justice – new publication from CCCB

To accompany the enthusiasm for Pope Francis’ encyclical, we now have this document from CCCB that presents applications and reflection questions especially meaningful in a Canadian context. (20 pages – $5).

Examples: Should Canada sell arms or military equipment to countries that ignore basic human rights? (p. 11)

Why does a wealthy country like Canada not dedicate more of its resources to reducing poverty? (p. 14)

The usual norms applied to determine economic success in Canada fail to capture the reality of day-to-day life for many. This results in the odd situation whereby the economy is apparently doing well but many people are not. (p. 16).
