My name is Debbie Polley. I have been an Associate for five years. I have known the CNDs since I was 9 years old and have loved them and St. Marguerite since I was a young girl. I am a retired teacher who taught for thirty–one years. I love bringing laughter and joy into the lives of people. I am civically involved with voters’ rights via phone conferences and letters to our Senators. I also enjoy artwork, classical music and creative prayer time.

As I reflect on today’s readings, I am moved by God’s desire to be in a loving relationship with each one of us. Our Beloved shows us, each day, just how much we are loved, treasured and cherished. Each day we are provided with opportunities to respond to God’s invitation of relationship. We are being invited to know Love as if it is the only thing that matters.

Perhaps Jesus’ disciples realized the awesome reality of that invitation in its fullness, as they witnessed The Transfiguration of Jesus. It truly brought them to the mountain top of their hearts and souls. They knew then that there were no tents big enough to contain God’s love. At that moment, they understood the ultimate truth: God is pure love and only love. The Divine Voice asked them to “listen”. That same Divine Voice speaks to each of us today. “Listen. Hear My Voice. Know that you are loved beyond measure.”

We are being invited into relationship with God in many ways. If we “listen” as if all our encounters were experiences of sitting at the feet of Jesus, our lives can be transformed by the Greatest Love of All. We are sitting at the feet of Jesus and looking up toward His face of pure light and love when: We receive a phone call from a friend asking how we are... We participate in family zoom meetings who welcome us into the room... We share laughter over silly things... We pass a stranger on our walks who greets us with smiling eyes... We shed tears of sadness and our dogs or cats climb into our laps to give us comfort... We look up at the sky and see brilliant hues of color after a glistening snowfall...

These are the simple, everyday miracles of our lives that carry God’s holy message that we are loved beyond measure.

Sit at the feet of Jesus, look upward toward His gentle, caring face in the ordinary events of the day and we will receive acceptance, understanding, comfort and pure love--no matter what. This is a most precious gift, a most wondrous treasure that is offered to us each day, each moment in time. We are being asked to receive God and reflect on "relationship” during this Lenten season of prayer and reflection. Our responses can lead us into experiences of holiness and wholeness. Being with God is truly life-changing.

Many blessings of God’s Love and Light... May each of you be comforted by God’s peace.
