Cape Breton Celtic Colours Welcomed Kathleen and Ann Deignan

The NS 400th Committee

St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Parish, Sydney, NS

Following the presentation people came forward to touch, pray or just be in the presence of the relic of St. Marguerite which was removed from the altar for this night only. (This ritual was repeated at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Parish, Tantallon, NS.)

“The presentation given by Sr. Kathleen Deignan, enriched by the beautiful music and poetry of her sister, Ann, was a unique experience. Through word, song and silent reflection we were inspired to encounter the presence of St. Marguerite Bourgeoys in a mystical way.” (Rosemary McGee)

The Celtic Spirituality was inspirational and many appreciated the historical connection with the early monks. One comment was that “there was a sense that, in tune with God’s infinite love, we could make all things new in our world.”

St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Parish, Tantallon, NS: sisters and associates gathered with the Tantallon Community to hear Sister Kathleen and Ann. All three evenings were reflective and thought provoking. Kathleen “unpacked” Marguerite’s writings and presented us with a fresh, new sense of Marguerite’s story.
