It has been a diamond studded year!

Noreen MacDonald, CND

It has been a diamond studded year for me! Indeed it began in December during a celebration at school in honour of all our benefactors. At that time I was named a MaYaa by the fon (traditional leader) of Ngarum. In other words I am now Queen Noreen of Ngarum!

In January I renewed my vows with the two new finally professed sisters in Yaounde and joined with them in celebrating the event. In February we celebrated my eightieth birthday at Kumbo. In May I joined with you all in spirit as mass was celebrated for the Diamond Jubilarians at Bon Secours. In June I joined with others at Andrews of Charlottetown to celebrate again. And at this time I realized how many of you sent greetings and mass offerings. For all of these I am grateful. There were smaller gatherings with family and friends which were more occasions of joy and then to top it all off the bishop of Kumbo offered a thanksgiving mass in my honour when I returned to Cameroon. It was a wonderful celebration! The whole year had a sparkle to it and now I am looking forward to whatever comes next.
