From The Formation Corner

Immacolata Cassetta, CND

Annunciation House, El Paso, Texas

Dear Friends, Cathy, Libby and I (Maco) just returned a few days ago and are filled with gratitude to each of you for your prayers and moral and financial support during our time in El Paso, TX. In honesty, we have felt the CND presence on this very special journey. It has been an incredible community experience filled with many visitation moments and it will take a long time to unpack the many graces.

It became clear that the people we met are so desirous of having a better life for themselves and for their families.  We are glad to have been able to offer comfort and support as they walked their path. Their amazing resilience and faith, their many smiles and their sense of hope were encouraging.

How can we not support their desires to a safer and healthier lifestyle? We are so very moved by the many encounters (too many to name in this note) and feel like they have touched our hearts in a very deep way. The border will mean so much more as we all try to make meaning of its many challenges and process all that has happened. And, yes, we are forever changed!

I encourage you, if you haven’t yet, to review Libby’s blog post where she faithfully highlighted some of the experiences throughout our time. Her blog can be reached at:  www.literallylibby.blogspot.com.

Please continue to pray for those at the border and for the many people who are offering their services. Magnificat, indeed!
