Sydney and Area Sisters and Associates Attend Mass for Shut Ins

Sydney and Surrounding Area Associates

On Sunday, November 25th, Sisters and Associates of the Congrégation de Notre-Dame gathered at the ATV Studio on George Street in Sydney to celebrate Mass For Shut-ins with celebrant Fr. Albert Maroun. Angela McKinnon was the altar server and Lorette Campbell and choir provided the music. The 1st Reading was proclaimed by journeying associate John Ratchford and the 2nd one by Frances Gordon. Mary McKenzie read the prayers of the faithful. Sr. Theresa Sampson, CND, with Thelma Libbus presented the gifts, Lorrette Andrews was the Minister of the Eucharist. Fr. Maroun spoke of the wonderful presence of the Sisters of the Congrégation de Notre-Dame who ensured that we all had an opportunity to be educated and of the varied ways they touched our local communities with their generous spirits. As associates, we felt that we were honouring the words of our Mission & Vision Statement - “In a spirit of openness and mutuality with the sisters, we share the charism of Marguerite Bourgeoys and the mission of the Congrégation de Notre-Dame.” To live more “visitation moments” we all gathered at a local restaurant to enjoy a time of fellowship and a great meal.
