Rose Mary Sullivan, CND

I thought I would approach my ministry in a different way this year. So, I am in the midst of setting up an “evolutionary” Social Justice Committee. Currently, Sisters Bea Baker, Marilyn Medinger and Anne Seeley are working with me. I am seeking Associates who have a passion for justice and might have skills in technology to join the committee.

Description Of Province Plan Related To Our Orientation:

Leadership Team’s Goal #1: We will engage the CND family of Blessed Sacrament Province in the implementation of the General Chapter 2016-2021 orientation.

Jesus Christ calls us to humanize all our relationships. How then shall we live?

Last summer’s invitation from the Leadership Team:

As you consider each of the three elements of the orientation--living interculturality, going to the peripheries, caring for our common home--ask yourself:

which of those elements is drawing me in a special way at this time? (A different element might be drawing you a year from now!)

why is that so for me? what is my experience of it, or perhaps I simply wish for or am attracted to such an experience. What is my "story" with regard to that element?

how, then, shall I live? what am I moved to do?

Because of the nature of our Province Plan regarding the Orientation, the Province Justice Plan will take a different format this year. As a committee, we have decided that our Plan will focus on the third point above, how, then, shall I live? what am I moved to do?

Blessed Sacrament Province Justice Plan 2017-18:

The first part of our Province Justice Plan calls our Committee:

To send out calls to action from LCWR, Network, and other Networks and Coalitions related to the Orientation or to our 5 Corporate Stands.

To share resources and opportunities related to the Orientation

To gather, synthesize, and publicize actions undertaken by individuals and groups as ways to “incarnate” our General Chapter Orientation. We see this as key to our process. Sr. Bea is developing a simple form to report actions.

The second part of our Justice Plan concerns itself with the toxic atmosphere in our country. Because of the rise of individualism, the increase of political fragmentation, and the growing intolerance of differences within many people of our country, we call each other to be co-creators of a culture based on the values of reconciliation, right relationships, compassion and forgiveness.
