On Saturday, October 14th, a diocesan Development and Peace Workshop, organized by Donna LeBlanc, was held at the Msgr Boyd Center in Fredericton, NB. We began with a Gathering Prayer in which all members participated. A student representative form St. Thomas University spoke of his involvement in D & P and his desire to invite other youth to join in. Certificates of Honor were awarded to members who were actively involved for many years and were a great influence on others. Among those recognized were Sister Charlotte Lockhart, Gail and Clarence McKibbon, Miramichi, NB. (Gail is a CND Associate)

Danny Gillis, coordinator in publishing “Jubilee: 50 Years of Solidarity,” gave an interesting and informative overview of D & P. He outlined three important aspects, Movement, Partnership and Advocacy and explained the many campaigns carried out over 50 years. Nicholas B Kelgora gave a presentation on the current campaign: Women at the Heart of Peace. “Honor women who build peace in their communities throughout the world. Give hope to victims of all kinds of conflicts.”

St. Dunstan’s Parish generously provided our noon meal. The entire day was a rich experience.
