How can I express in a few words the absolute delight it was to be part of the celebration of 85 years of Home Economics in all its facets and its importance in the lives and careers of its graduates.

The various changes over the years were outlined by the guest speakers, two of whom I taught, but I was particularly struck by how they stressed that their home economics education significantly impacted on their personal lives and careers. Gratitude to all their professors, most of whom were CNDs, permeated their presentations and the excitement of the exchanges filling the room from the many other graduates present. Of course I was the only CND present and with me was Leona Morrissey and Ann Sullivan, but everyone else was mentioned as the history unfolded. Many fans wished Sister Helen Aboud were there and grateful mention was made of Sisters Catherine MacNeil, Margaret Delorey, Mary Murphy, Cappy Peters, Alma Losier and Faustina Grant who taught one of the presenters in High School.

The graduates shared so many memories and so many laughs. It was an experience of liberating education at its best.
