OK Clean Water Project Celebrates Its 10th Anniversary in Our Ontario Schools

OK Clean Water Project

As The OK Clean Water Project celebrates its 10th Anniversary we are proud to say that again schools in the Ottawa Catholic School Board were most supportive as twenty-six schools brought in an amazing $33,386.60.

The schools were given a power point presentation including photos, commentary and statistics on the number of villages, pipes, storage tanks, schools and health clinics served by the project. Presently thirty-five villages have clean water and more villagers are waiting in hope. As well as providing the materials and plan for the village projects the Cameroonian engineer provides workshops to the villagers to ensure that the sustainability of each village project is maintained. The schools were most creative in their fundraising engaging in such activities as walk-a-thon, read-a-thons, spirit days, bake sales, chores at home to raise money for OK Clean Water Project.

This year2012-2013 the following schools have been supportive of the project:

St. Anne, Uplands Catholic, Dr. F.J. McDonald, Good Shepherd, McMaster Catholic, St. Jerome, Immaculata, St. Daniel, Our Lady of Mount Carmel, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, St. Bernard, Holy Spirit, St. Augustine, Pope John XX111, St. George, T.D. McGee, Holy Family, St. Monica, St. Rita, Holy Trinity, St. Clare, Sacred Heart, Frank Ryan, St. Thomas More, All Saints, and St. Mary-Brockville.

Over the past ten years fifty-two schools have been involved in fundraising activities to raise an amazing  $230, support this life-giving cause. We are most grateful to all staff, student and parents for your ongoing support and concern for our brothers and sisters in our global community.

As the Cameroonians would say "Water is Life!"
