Eath Day 2013 : Small Actions - Big differences

The North wind was cold, the trees were bare, and the crocuses were just peeping through. Yet we had our Earth Day Party at Notre-Dame Convent - Charlottetown. We befriended the ants, the mosquitos too. The little earth creatures were beginning anew.

Our Earth Day history questions took us to view the image of the Earth as a small precious oasis floating in the vastness of space. We marveled at this floating ball, its blue pools of water, the mountains, the creatures walking the surface. The ball would be a great wonderment to all. Back to earth - This is how those in space see the earth yet we are standing on this earth. We must work together to create a sustainable world. Take care of the species that are becoming extinct, hold onto natural habitats, make our foot prints show we care.

The theme for 2013 is Act for the Planet. We each in a very small way planted seeds that will later beautify our garden on Sydney Street. We later enjoyed an afternoon lunch of earth cake and tea.
