Year of Consecrated Life Video

Montreal, January 12, 2015

On this January 12, feast day of saint Marguerite Bourgeoys, foundress of the Congrégation de Notre-Dame, the sisters of the Congregation are marking the Year of Consecrated Life by releasing a short video: In it, Sisters Susan Kidd, Della Gaudet, Réjeanne Bourque and Anne T. Gillis, share a few insights about their vocation, religious life and mission. One will even hear about Saint Marguerite Bourgeoys and how she met the needs of the people of her time – something the Congrégation de Notre-Dame sisters are still committed to today.

More interview clips will be released throughout the year, introducing some of our sisters from different parts of the world. Each sister’s story is unique, yet all are following in Marguerite Bourgeoys’s footsteps, as they “commit to live
simply and closer to the reality of the impoverished, the excluded and the oppressed; to protect our planet and to participate actively in the transformation of Church and society for a more just world.” (Chapter Orientations, 2011)
