The Associates coordinators and Sr. Nina were blessed to spend the morning of Monday April 3rd with Montreal CND, Sr. Joan Foliot. We explored the theme "Rooted in Jesus Christ" from the General Chapter in light of the Congrégation de Notre-Dame Orientation 2016-2021. Together we explored our image of God and Jesus. We were challenged: to not define or "box" God in, but rather to let God evolve in our lives and in our relationships are we a living replica of Jesus? We had two short sessions each followed by a time of reflection and then a time of sharing. Sr. Joan reminded us that new images and faces of Jesus are being revealed to us in our daily lives and time of prayer if we are attentive. To be rooted in Jesus Christ we must be rooted in all creation. We were reminded that we have been called by name and that Jesus tells us "...there is so much I want to do for you, if only you will let me...." Rooted in Jesus Christ we strive to cultivate love and compassion, by deepening our image and understanding of who Jesus is in our lives in 2017. This will enable us to answer the question posed in our CND Orientation 2016-2021 "How then shall we live?" as we discover "Where and what is our Future?

Did you know Canada’s first Native woman to be canonized (2012), Saint Kateri Tekakwitha, is the patron saint of ecology and environmental care? She is also patron of all who have lost their parents, of exiles, and of World Youth Day. On Tuesday, April 18, our parish community of Saint Anthony’s in Fredericton welcomed many to a special service for the blessing of a new statue of Saint Kateri. First Nations communities were well represented; a women’s group of singers and drummers took part in the celebration.
